About us
Many, many moons ago, three guys (Gary, Dale, and Chris) decided to take up golfing in Faro. They didn't let the fact that there wasn't a golf course stop them. They had a golf club, beer, some orange spray paint (to mark holes), and that was all they needed.
A short time later, the Town of Faro was involved in a beautification project – clearing brush from green areas, eliminating swampy sections, and grooming the open grass fields. The grass fields, which are still maintained by the town, became the course's fairways.
For the last 25 years the Town and the Golf Club have worked together to provide Faroites and Visitors with a beautiful 9-hole golf course.
The Town of Faro takes care of mowing the fairways, and watering. The Faro Golf Club volunteers care for the greens and tee boxes.
Throughout the years the Faro Golf Club has had many valuable volunteers. These volunteers have donated thousands upon thousands of hours to raise funds to build the course and they continue to donate their time to maintain it.
The Society
In 2001 the Faro Golf Club organizers decided to register as a society with Yukon Government.
Our mission statement: To provide further recreational opportunities for the Campbell Region community members and visitors. The goals of the organization are to: encourage and support people of all ages interested in golf as a recreational activity; to plan and support enhancement of the current town green spaces for the use of the golf course.

In 2023 the Faro Golf Club was able to purchase 4 golf carts with the generous support of Lotteries Yukon.
